Unsurprisingly, yesterday's Chanel spring 2023 couture show in Paris was attended by a who's who of celebrities. Tilda Swinton, Marion Cotillard, and Vanessa Paradis were among the A-list celebrities there. However, the celebrity-filled gathering included a fresh face. The 18-year-old Apple Martin, a daughter of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, sat front and centre for her debut fashion presentation. Martin says, “The Chanel Couture show was my first exposure to the fashion industry, and I'm so extremely appreciative to Chanel and their great team for hosting me.” The art in the designs and the line's theme coming into focus throughout the show was really interesting to watch.
Martin preferred styles that exuded a positive, youthful vibe. Martin cites the floor-length white dresses and the dropped-waist short tweed outfits as his favourite looks from the presentation. “I loved looks 40, 23, and 18 in particular.” It was only a matter of time before Martin, a devoted fashion enthusiast, got to see one of her favourite brands perform in person. Martin claims, “I truly appreciate keeping up with fashion.” She paid a special visit to le19M, Chanel's new building devoted to showcase its Métiers d'Art garments and artisans, before the presentation.
Martin dressed stylishly for the occasion given her VIP position at the concert. A black and white tweed dress and a jacket in the same colour scheme were part of her Chanel ensemble for spring 2023. She donned excellent jewellery, including an 18-karat gold bracelet and necklace with diamonds, as well as a Première Edition Originale watch, in addition to a traditional quilted purse and hefty loafers. Martin adds, “I wanted my look to embody Chanel's classic appeal while also injecting edge with a powerful eye look.” “The pairing of the loafers and the minidress was my favourite aspect of the outfit. It felt really true to my own personal style.
Something tells us we'll be seeing Martin in the front rows even more now that she's established herself as a fashion girl—possibly even during the forthcoming fashion month. Martin believes that one may anticipate traditional, contemporary outfits from her, but with a twist. Martin says, “I can't say that I'm particularly trendy. I enjoy wearing cosy sweaters and cardigans, loafers, and a great pair of comfortable Levi's. I try to combine classic '90s style with cool grandfather vibes when choosing an outfit because that's what matters most to me.
