Danish PM Warns Trump to End ‘Threats’ Over Greenland

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has publicly told U.S. President Donald Trump to stop threatening to take over Greenland after Trump reiterated his belief that the United States “needs” the Arctic territory for defence and strategic reasons in an interview. Frederiksen said it makes “absolutely no sense” to discuss the U.S. taking over Greenland and stressed that the United States has no right to annex any part of the Kingdom of Denmark. She urged Trump to end the rhetoric against a “historically close ally” and a people who have made clear they are not for sale
