In a dramatic shift in the political landscape of Nepal, the Rastriya Swatantra Party led by Balendra Shah has secured a sweeping victory in the country’s general elections. The party won a large majority in the 275-member House of Representatives, marking one of the most decisive electoral outcomes in recent Nepali history.
The victory reflects strong support from young voters and widespread public frustration with traditional political parties. Shah, a former rapper and the ex-mayor of Kathmandu, campaigned on promises of tackling corruption, improving governance, and boosting economic growth. With this landslide win, he is now poised to become Nepal’s next prime minister.
