The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly preparing to return to the UK later this month, BBC News understands.
Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to relocate from the United States to a private residence outside London. The move was first reported by the Daily Telegraph and The Sun.
Their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are reportedly set to begin attending a British school in September.
King Charles was informed about the couple's plans on Sunday. However, there are currently no indications that Harry or Meghan intend to return to official duties as working members of the Royal Family.
The Sussexes and their children visited the King at his Highgrove residence in July, although it is understood that their plans to move back to Britain were not discussed during that visit.
According to the BBC, the King was not aware of the planned relocation until last weekend. He is nevertheless said to welcome the opportunity to spend more time with Harry, Meghan and their children in a private and personal capacity.
Despite the move, there is expected to be no change to Harry and Meghan's official status. The couple will continue to live as private individuals and will not resume their former roles as working royals.
The decision marks a significant development for the Sussex family, who moved to the US after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Whether their return represents a permanent move or a longer-term period in Britain remains unclear.
