Berlusconi will be recollected in Russia as a predictable and principled ally of reinforcing cordial relations between our nations, says Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin called Italy's Silvio Berlusconi a dear companion and an exceptional lawmaker in a recognition for the previous state head who kicked the bucket on Monday matured 86.
“For my purposes, Silvio was a dear individual, a genuine companion. I have in every case truly respected his insight, his capacity to make adjusted, far-located choices even in the most tough spots,” Putin said in a message of sympathy.
Berlusconi will be recollected in Russia as a “predictable and principled ally of reinforcing cordial relations between our nations”, he said.
Berlusconi developed close relations with Moscow during Putin's most memorable years in the Kremlin from 2000 onwards.
The two Berlusconi and Schroeder became close companions of the Russian chief and were scrutinized in the West for remaining by him long after Russia's 2014 capture of Crimea from Ukraine.
Berlusconi drew judgment not long before Italy's surveys last year when he said Putin had been “pushed” into attacking Ukraine months sooner.
